Ahh...1981. It happens to be the year that gave us some of my favorites!
Namco releases Pac-Man to the united states and it goes on to be the highest grossing coin-operated video game of all time. Over 100 million dollars to date.
MTV rocks the nation on August 1....kicking off with "Video Kills the Radio Star". Do you remember MTV back then? It was so awesome. For those of you that don't remember--they used to play videos.
Space Shuttle Columbia makes its first flight April 12th.
Lucas and Spielberg release Indiana Jones to the world.
IBM introduces the first personal computer August 12.
Sandra Day O'Conner becomes the first woman to sit on the U.S. Supreme Court.
Kim Carnes'"Bette Davis Eyes" is the record of the year.
