Rescued!

For those of you that don't know my mom was staying with us for a couple of weeks (okay, more like 8 weeks, but whose counting). Anyway, besides making my life pretty easy while she was here she also rescued my rose bushes. Seeing as she has a ton of rose bushes in her backyard she has learned a thing or two about roses and boy did that come in handy. We came home from Cali and noticed that our rose bushes were being attacked by aphids. So we whipped up a concoction of lemon joy, oil, and some water (no chemicals needed this way) and sprayed the rose bushes. We also had to cut a bunch of the bushes off, but this morning I woke up to this.....

The roses are a little chewed, but they are hanging in there. I have been trying to check the bushes as much as possible to make sure that we don't have anymore and I am happy to report that we seem to be aphids free. I am hoping to make a trip to the nursery to purchase some ladybugs to make sure that we stay that way. Thanks mom for rescuing my rose bushes.
