Rain, Food, and Fun!!

Saturday we traveled down to Logandale, NV to go to the fair. We knew going down that there was a 30% chance that it would rain, but we live in the middle of the desert and it hardly rains here, so we went anyway. I am not sure we were even out of Vegas before it started raining and it never stopped until we left. We had a total blast anyway! Luckily, it was the kind of rain that gets you wet and cold, but not drenched to the bone. We were covered in mud from about the knees down when we left, not because the mud was terrible-oh no- Ali had to splash in every puddle that we saw. She had a great time getting us all nice and muddy. It was a pretty large fair and they had great booths, food, rides, and of course livestock. Chris and Serena even saw Pirates!

The kids had a great time seeing the animals.

It didn't really matter what kind of animal it was, the girls were excited to pet them. Chris was nice enough to make sure that they didn't get their fingers bitten.

The really liked the 6 day old piglets.

I thought animals like this ribbon winning Rooster was pretty freaking cool.

The loved playing games and riding rides. I didn't get a picture of all of the stuff that Serena helped them win, but they walked away with two inflatable bats and two stuffed animals a piece.

Randy, Ryen, and me on the poser Tidlewave!

Ali loved the little rides that went around and around!

Both kids liked the little roller coaster.

Check out Ryen striking a pose on the ride.

We managed to enjoy the fair food despite the rain. My favorite part of the day was when Chris gave Ali a thing of cotton candy and she was trying to eat it before the rain washed it away. She was not happy to share with the rain. We also had the worst glass of homemade root beer I have ever tasted in my life. I am not sure what they did, but it was bad. Both Ryen and I gagged on it. Yuck!! We also had our favorite deep fried Oreos. Love them!! We didn't find the BBQ stand until right before we left and decided to have dinner indoors, so it was off to Famous Daves for BBQ minus the rain.
It was such a fun day. We are hoping to do it next year without the rain.
