Disneyland Days

We just got back from our little family vacation at Disneyland. We decided to celebrate making it through another couple semesters of school, the move, and everything else that has come our way over the past 6 months or so. We were in the park for three days, Sunday being our first. Unfortunately, the weather did not want to cooperate we were soaked before we even left the parking lot. The yucky weather kept the crowds down and we were able to ride a bunch of rides. Our first one was Nemo. I hated this ride (way to closed in for me), but the kids really liked it. Ali was a trooper, she had never been to anything like Disneyland before and she rode pretty much everything that she was big enough to ride, including Space Mountain and Splash Mountain. We were going strong right up to the point where we rode Splash Mountain. All of us,except for Ali, had been on this ride a bunch of times and never got really wet.

This time we got soaked and most of us ended up looking like this.

Drenched and freezing we made it an early night and headed back to the hotel.

Monday started out much better the weather was gorgeous! Everyone must have thought so because the park was pretty packed, but not enough that we ended up in line for too long. We started the day in Toon Town seeing Mickey and Minnie and riding the few rides that are over there then we spent the rest of the day at California Adventure riding rides with monsters and toys, talking to turtles (Turtle talk with Crush was one of the cutest things we did the whole trip), and dancing with Playhouse Disney..

Ali was this excited through the entire show. It was great she ended up going again the next day. We were all excited to go and ride Soaring Over California next. Ali did not like this ride. We realized then that we had lost our element of surprise and anything with a seat belt was going to be a problem. We then went over and stood in the longest line of our whole trip-Toy Story. It was a great ride, but the line was waaaayyy too long.
One of the best moments of the trip was watching Randy and Ryen on the bumper cars in Bugs World. They are bumper cars for little kids and I don't think it quit had the impact that they hoped, but look at how determined they both were.



We were really bummed that the park closed at 8 and we were unable to make it to the roller coaster and the haunted hotel. (I guess that gives us a reason to go back). So we headed back to Disneyland and my mom and I sat on Main Street and saved seats for the fireworks and Randy and the kids went and rode Star Tours for the second time. If you have not seen the fireworks at Disneyland you are missing out. It is the awesomest show ever. We totally love it and that night we were in the perfect place to see the fireworks and the castle, which is part of the show.

Tuesday we rode more rides and shopped at downtown Disney and just enjoyed the day. The lines were a little bit longer so we missed some of the rides that we really wanted to go on, but we rode some that we had never been on. We had so much fun just spending time as a family. Thanks Dad for taking us. Oh here is a slide show of some of the highlights. I was hoping to take tons more pictures, but with crowds like that you have to keep moving.
