Harvest Grain Tour

A few weeks ago (I know I am way behind. One of these days I may even get to the California trip we took like 6 weeks ago), anyway Ali's play group took a tour of the Harvest Grain store here in town. It is the cutest little tour.

They start by showing all of the kids how they make the bread. They showed the kids the wheat before it had been ground up. Not to surprising to a bunch of LDS kids, most of them have seen wheat. The kids thought the yeast smelled like dirty feet and thought it was super funny.

Ali was so interested in everything.

The kids each got their own piece of dough and formed it into piece of bread. Ali's looked a little like a snail.

Once all of the bread was shaped and labeled, she introduced them to the oven. That would be the big silver thing at the back of the picture. She also showed them how the cut the bread. Ali tried to stick her hand in it. Oh Ali!!!!

They finished the tour with a book about a Little Red Hen and gave them a sample of cinnamon bread. Ali wouldn't even taste it-big surprise!! It was so windy that it was really hard to hear the story so the kids just mostly ran around. Once their bread was baked we were off to have lunch with good friends. It was such a fun day!!!
